The only thing better than
reading a book you really enjoy is sharing it with someone else. On Thursday,
July 29th, from 6-8pm Fall Properties is hosting a Book Swap in the
parking lot behind our new building at 212-A N. West Street (the Shreve-McGonegal
building) in the City of Falls Church, Virginia.
We’re collecting your gently used books
for children of all ages starting on Monday the 26th. Drop your books off at
the office right up until noon on Thursday, July 29th and we’ll give you a ticket for
each book you bring. Then come back Thursday evening, July 29th and bring your tickets to
swap for a book you haven’t read yet. Or maybe for one you’d like to read
again.
We don’t want any readers to leave empty
handed, so please pull out some of your favorites and swap them for some of
ours! And encourage your friends and family and especially any children you
know to join in. Book swaps are usually organized by schools, but with so many
budget cuts to the school systems, we decided to step in and help.
We’re hoping to work out a deal with the
folks at Lazy Sundae (right next door!) so you can get a discount on your ice
cream cone after you’ve swapped.
Any books that are left over will be
donated to the Literacy Council of Northern Virginia for their Family Learning
Program, and to our local libraries.
